André 3000’s name has been surfacing in headlines more often than usual. Back in January, he was spotted in a studio session with Kanye West and 2 Chainz during the creation of The Life of Pablo, and before this, he crashed one of L.A. Reid’s radio interviews. Both appearances gave fans hope that this iconic artist was back to making music of his own.
“I’ve gotten in trouble before for saying when or what is coming, so I like to just kind of let it be,” he told Billboard during an interview for American Crime. “I’d like to put out some kind of music project, but we’ll see.” Although there were no concrete details of what’s to come, Chris Rock might have unleashed key details about what the Outkast member has been up to lately.
“[H]ard at work on the new André 3000 album,” Rock captioned in a photo featuring the rapper surrounded by Dave Chappelle, Jarobi from A Tribe Called Quest, and Jack White.
When he’s not crafting the sounds fans are anxiously awaiting to hear, André 3000 is listening to new artists. He previously mentioned his preference for Kid Cudi’s Speeding Bullet to Heaven album. He also spoke highly of new artists during a Phife tribute stating, “They’re them because of us and it has to keep going. All this old n*ggas hatin on the young n*ggas, that shit got to stop. It’s all music. It’s all influence.”
