When it comes to new productions of a staple in the fashion industry, one would think that sticking to the adage “If It Ain’t Broke Don’t Fix It” would come to mind with certain designs. With some of their latest iterations being more on the eccentric side for the first quarter of the year, Converse has decided to keep up their recent trend with their newest update. The officially dubbed Chuck Taylor All Star “Shroud” serves as Converse’s newest update to their classic silhouette, and was released Friday as part of Converse’s spring/summer collection.

The radical update sees the sneaker completely reimagined with striking characteristics, such as its toecap and laces having been encased within a dark canvas “shroud” that opens with a zipper down its middle. The shoe’s ankle patch has been whited out, while a tonal canvas material covers the rest of the shoe, making the legendary model even more unrecognizable.

Interesting iteration to say the least. Pick up a pair of the new Converse Chuck Taylor All Star “Shroud” online now for $100, you know, if that’s really your thing.
