Young Thug to Appear on the “Suicide Squad” Soundtrack?

Young Thug Suicide Squad

Suicide Squad is the most anticipated blockbuster this year, and for good reason. Just take a look at the latest trailer that premiered during the MTV Movie Awards. Warner Bros. is 3/3 with the Squad teasers and anticipation is at an all-time high. For a film than wrangles together some of DC’s favorite villains for high-octane shenanigans, Suicide Squad has the distinct advantage of steering into a lane of its own in terms of marketing, additional content, and the film itself. And if this latest bit of news holds true, Warner Bros. is gearing up for one hell of a release.

Rumor has it that Young Thug will appear on the official soundtrack for Suicide Squad. Yesterday, Thug’s sister Dora teased the news on Twitter, “Did you guys know Jeff(@youngthug) did a song on #SuicideSquad soundtrack?!?!”

*Collective gasp*

Suicide Squad doesn’t land in theaters until August, so I wouldn’t expect the studio to confirm such headlines in the immediate future, but it’s a promising sign nonetheless. It would make sense for Thugga to grace the film’s soundtrack as there are obvious parallels between the rapper and maniacal Batman foe, The Joker. Hell, we even compared the two back when Thug was trolling Lil Wayne during the Carter/Barter 6 debacle.

As for Thugga himself, the rapper is poised to have a huge 2016. After releasing Slime Season 3 last month, Thug is gearing up for his Hy!£UN35 tour, which kicks off May 1 and runs until May 25, hitting major cities such as NYC, LA, DC, Houston, and New Orleans. He’s also expected to release his Hy!£UN35 project later this year. Hopefully we’ll hear something more concrete regarding Thug and Suicide Squad, but one thing’s for sure, this soundtrack will be from out of this world…

…Still hoping they incorporate Rihanna’s “Goodnight Gotham” into the mix.
